Microsoft Project is a very powerful tool that often lets you do the WRONG thing.

Yes, you read that right!

 

Particularly when it comes to assigning resources to tasks. If done incorrectly (and no – Microsoft Project does not warn you when you are!), you can basically destroy all your hard work in one fowl swoop.

 

Think I’m exaggerating? Try it and see. But make sure you make a backup of your project first. Just in case…

 

People are always so amazed at how many ways you can assign resources to tasks in MS Project – especially when they learn there is actually only one correct way.
